Infusing Technology into the Teaching and Assessment of Pre-Calculus, Statistics and Calculus Course Our Goal To reduce attrition and improve level of performance of students in Tier 2 courses compromising Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Statistics, so that we have more and better qualified students who can successfully complete their associate degree requirement in the stipulates period of two years. Specific Objectives - Upgrade infrastructure to accommodate enhanced version of the software to implement the new integrated instructional approach for Tier 2 courses.
- Conduct faculty training workshops to train faculty and part time instructors in the use of various software packages.
- Modify question banks to make them compatible with course outlines at UPR-Ponce.
- Conduct pilot studies for each course to test the materials, procedures, consolidate the faculty training and to make appropriate modifications in the procedures.
- Implement new approaches in all sections of the four target courses and collect data to document the expected outcomes.
- Disseminate the materials and procedures through the project website, presentations in conferences, and other campuses of the UPR system.
