Welcome message!
Welcome to Our Department
As it does every year, nature reminds us that life is made up of a series of cycles, all necessary and all inevitable. The four seasons—summer, spring, autumn, and winter—each play a vital role in the cycle of life. The warmth of summer allows everything to flourish, so that spring may nourish all living things with its fruits. Autumn clears away the fallen leaves and scatters seeds upon the ground, allowing winter to water and nourish them so that the cycle may begin anew.
Today, we are gathered here for precisely that reason: to begin a new cycle. Just as in nature, the school from which you have just graduated represents the autumn of a beautiful and joyful chapter in your lives—a time during which you made the transition from childhood to adolescence. Your school has transformed each of you into a seed, full of potential and promise.
Now, it is our turn to welcome you, nurture you, and help you grow. We will provide the guidance, discipline, knowledge, and tools necessary to cultivate the dreams that each of you carries. Our hope is that, by the end of this new adventure, you will have taken root, grown, and blossomed into some of the most knowledgeable and highly skilled Engineering Technicians in Puerto Rico.
Congratulations on this remarkable achievement!
We look forward to welcoming you to the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce—Your Ponce Campus!
¡Red and Black, always!

Program Assessment
Steps for ongoing improvement
-
Study hall with teachers and set schedules.
-
Time and resources optimization meetup.
-
Making a rubric to evaluate work teams by their peers.
Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:
Prepare architectural, engineering, and construction drawings, documents, and presentations using appropriate graphic communication techniques.
Perform, analyze, and interpret standard field and laboratory tests on engineering materials.
Use modern surveying equipment to perform land measurements and establish points in the field.
Determine forces and stresses in basic structural systems.
Select materials and prepare quantity estimates for engineering and construction projects.
Apply modern productivity tools to solve technical problems.
Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve civil engineering technology problems requiring limited theoretical analysis and extensive practical application.
Function effectively as a member of a technical team.
Communicate effectively through written, oral, and graphical methods in technical and nontechnical environments, and identify and use appropriate technical resources.
