We are one of the eleven units that make up the University of Puerto Rico and the only one in the whole southern region of the country. We are located at the Santiaggo de los Caballeros Avenue in Ponce. This location offers us great opportunities of growth and development.

Here, we foster a love for knowledge, creative dialogue, and the discussion of truth within the broadest academic freedom. We aim for the comprehensive education of the student in response to the social and economic challenges imposed by the new times.

The UPR in Ponce brings together professors with extensive and varied academic and professional backgrounds, talented students, and a prepared and hardworking non-teaching staff into a single community. This wealth of capabilities has achieved the development of this unit of the University of Puerto Rico System.
